PTSD Trauma-Informed Yoga Therapy Group | Fort Worth

The Trinity Holistic Healing

Trauma-Informed Yoga Therapy Group

An eight-week therapy programme for PTSD and for anxiety and nervous-system dysregulation — led by Vannah Hughes at Cosmic Yoga Collective in Fort Worth.

Trauma is not only remembered — it is held. It lives in a startle response, a jaw that never unclenches, a night that never quite becomes sleep. Talking helps, and for many people talking alone does not finish the job, because the part of the nervous system doing the holding does not speak in sentences.

This is an eight-week therapy group that works both at once: real clinical psycho-education alongside processing yoga, somatic movement, breathwork, meditation, and acupuncture and healing. Two tracks run within it — one for PTSD and post-traumatic stress, one for anxiety and nervous-system dysregulation — and you'll be placed in whichever fits what you're carrying.

The programme

Eight weeks, three mornings a week

Groups meet Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 12:00 to 3:00 at Cosmic Yoga Collective in Fort Worth. Three hours sounds long until you're in it — the format moves between talking, moving, breathing and resting, so no single mode has to carry the whole session.

It is a closed group. The same people begin and finish together, which is much of why it works: by week three you are not explaining yourself from scratch to a room of strangers.

  • Psycho-education — what trauma and anxiety actually do to a nervous system, in plain language
  • Processing yoga — movement built for staying present with hard material, not for performance
  • Somatic movement — releasing what the body has been holding on to
  • Breathwork — practical regulation you can use in the car park, not only on a mat
  • Meditation — building tolerance for stillness, gently and at your pace
  • Acupuncture and healing — bodywork support woven through the eight weeks

Who it's for

Two tracks, one room's worth of care

The PTSD and post-traumatic stress track is for people living with intrusive memory, hypervigilance, nightmares, emotional numbness, or a body that reacts before the mind gets a say — including combat, assault, medical, childhood, and betrayal trauma.

The anxiety and nervous-system track is for chronic anxiety, panic, burnout, and the kind of persistent dysregulation where rest never quite lands. You don't need a diagnosis to be a fit, and you don't need any yoga experience whatsoever — beginners are genuinely welcome, and every posture is offered with options including staying in a chair.

This is group therapy, not a fitness class. It runs alongside individual counseling well, and your clinician is welcome to coordinate.

Cost and insurance

Most people can use their benefits for this

The programme is in network with Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, Cigna, Evernorth and Medicare. Benefits are verified before admission, so you know what you owe before you commit rather than after — nobody starts an eight-week programme on a guess.

Without insurance, groups are $70 each, and the full eight-week programme can be paid in full or spread across a payment plan. Ask and we'll set it up.

Start with a conversation

Admission begins with a short conversation so we can confirm the group is right for you, place you in the track that fits, and verify your benefits. Cohorts are deliberately small.

If you'd like to try the practices before committing to eight weeks, private yoga and breathwork sessions are available with our holistic practitioners.
