Meet Selina Kyle — a trained service husky who joins sessions for grounding, grief work, and nervous-system regulation.
Some of the hardest work in therapy happens in the moments when words run out. Selina Kyle is a 7-year-old Siberian husky trained by her handler, Michael Isbell, to be in the room for exactly those moments — a steady, warm, entirely non-judgmental presence you can put a hand on when a memory gets loud.
This isn't a novelty. Animal-assisted support has a real place in trauma work: contact with a calm animal slows the heart rate, gives the body something safe to orient toward, and makes it possible to stay with difficult material instead of shutting down. Selina is trained for PTSD grounding and emotional regulation, and she works alongside your clinician rather than in place of them.
How she works
A steady presence, on your terms
Selina joins in-person sessions as a support option. Nothing about her involvement is automatic — you decide whether she's in the room, whether she's near you or across it, and whether she stays for the whole hour or part of it. Some clients want her head on their knee the whole time; others want her simply nearby.
She is most often requested for grief processing, PTSD grounding, and nervous-system calming, and she works well with children and teens who find a room with an adult easier to enter when there's a dog in it.

Trained by Michael, at home in the practice
Selina has been trained by Michael Isbell since she was a puppy, and the two of them work as a pair — her handler reads her as closely as she reads the room. Scheduling for a session with Selina runs through Michael's calendar, so her availability is always his real availability rather than a guess.

Adding Selina to a session you already have
If you're already working with a Trinity clinician, ask them directly and they'll coordinate with Michael. If you're new to the practice, start with a note to us and say that animal-assisted support is something you'd like — we'll match you with the right clinician and build Selina in from the beginning.
Full self-serve booking for therapy dog sessions, with the same deposit and card-on-file handling as the rest of the practice, is being built now.
